For some reason, with deep scan enabled on a 500GB partition, Recuva keeps getting stuck at 57% with 2883045 files found and 7 hours to go. It's been like this for over 6 hours now. What's odd is that nothing is frozen (Recuva still seems to respond) and the HDD activity light is still on constantly. What's going on here? Should I hang tight or abort?
Edit: Now it says 8 hours. Gah!!

I restarted the scan with a few different options (but with deep scan still enabled) and this time it didn't get stuck... but oh jolly! It ran out of memory! Hmm, increase page file, reboot, end all tasks and processes except for critical ones... nope, runes out of memory again. God, Recuva sucks! First it was fine but now it just keeps running out of memory.
What's a good alternative? Recuva of a broken-arse piece of sh*t that can't do anything but waste time.
