I am a gamer on my computer and had around 13 games on my laptop from steam, I was doing a normal pc clean, and didn't pay too much attention to ccleaner while I used it.I usually have steam unchecked, but somehow it got checked again... Next thing I know, I can't open steam, I can't connect to the official steam site, I tried to uninstall steam and reinstall it, it was blocked as well, leaving me with no games. Will uninstalling ccleaner help? I'm tired of it wiping stuff I actually like.
Which CC version? As far as I am aware later versions don't touch Steam at all.
Are you using winapp2 ?

I don't have any problems with CCleaner & Steam, even with Winapp2.ini -file.
Sounds more like Steam is being blocked by a firewall rule than borked by CCleaner.

Or malware. Just fixed friend's PC, he couldn't start/connect Steam nor open steampowered.com, turned out malware was blocking these.
seems like a quick way to get detected.. stand between a gamer and their games..
