Start CCleaner /auto early in boot process

Can I ask why you have all these running at startup?

I was wondering the same.

Because if you use firefox, you can use forcastfox. If your using Windows 7, you can use Windows 7 built in Weather gadget instead.

Additionally, why do you need Google Toolbar? Can't you just search Google from your default browser? Most newer browsers include pop-up blocking as well.

Roboform? Firefox manages website logins, as does, I believe, most newer web browsers.

Wallpaper manager? Windows 7 includes the ability to highlight several wallpapers, right-click & set as desktop background, & you can select how often they rotate.

Seems quite a few unnecessary start-ups to me...

I cannot believe anyone wants to start ctfmon

It took me a lot of effort to track down and fix all the things that caused it to spring into life.

So far as I was concerned the only thing it achieved was to intercept a computer shut-down with a lockup.

TO ANSWER YOUR SPECIFIC QUESTION :-

YES

It is easy - you launch CCleaner with the arguments /AUTO /SHUTDOWN.

This will clean all junk and then shut-down the computer (ctfmon permitting)

This should leave your computer squeaky clean ready for the next time you Boot up.

I cannot believe anyone wants to start ctfmon

The simple easy fix is Ctfmon Remover (freeware), it replaces it with a dummy file that completely disables that p.o.s. exe file.

Because I want them to all automatically start.

I currently use Windows XP Pro sp3 so a lot of your suggestions aren't available natively. Hence why I use a 3rd party wallpaper changer, desktop weather app, etc. I use Google Toolbar so it can show me related searches I like to be able to use hard to recall passwords so that is why I use Roboform.

Sicne I do plan to get a new computer by Christmas 2012 - it will be either Windows 7 or maybe 8. The wallpaper changer I use now makes a list of custom image files that are wanted to rotate on a user-selected basis. How exactly does the wallpaper changer in Win 7 work? Screen shots of someone using it would be greatly appreciated!

What exactly does Clfmon do - or supposed to do? And it starts automatically as part of windows -

I may use it - have to do some investigating first....

Stardock Objectdock is very flashy & cool. Very customizable, too. 5 day weather fly-out on mouse hover. Even hover effects are customizable!

If your going for resources, Forcastfox for Firefox uses much fewer resources, & still retains up to a 6 day weather forcast, with more info on mouse hover.

* I don't use anything on the objectdock bar, except weather, so I delete all the other icons, then set the skin to a smallish see through!

_____

Firefox includes google search bar at top right, & it shows related searches as you type.

You can also do this by just setting google as your homepage.

_____

I would think the above solution for running CCleaner at shutdown would be good.

I also use the right-click CCleaner option on the recycle bin (CCleaner options has a checkmark for this) instead of having to pull up the CCleaner app just to run a clean.

_____

Newer versions of YIM include support for chatting with your Facebook & MSN friends, I believe.

You may be able to reduce what is running by running a multi-messenger, instead of 3 or 4 separate ones.

_____

Also: What does the Ctfmon.exe file do?

Ctfmon.exe monitors the active windows and provides text input service support for speech recognition, handwriting recognition, keyboard, translation, and other alternative user input technologies.

From my experience it can also cause serious system issues which is why I've disabled it using Ctfmon Remover.

To get this topic back on track in order to get CCleaner to run before everything else you'd need to use another software to delay startup of the other software. Here's a search for multiple freeware software that can delay the loading of other software.
