just tried it on my Windows XP. The program run for a while then Windows blue screen with "kernel_data_inpage _error". I never seen a program do that for many years now. Wow pretty nasty little program you got there. Need a little bit of work.
You might like to attach the windows minidump in a post for the devs to look at.
Perhaps there was some conflict with a certain piece of software on you machine. Speccy is quite widely used by XP users who wouldn't agree with your assessment that it's a nasty little program
Sounds like you have RAM problems or bad sectors - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc957628.aspx
Run memtest86 - http://www.memtest86.com/ and then chkdsk.exe /r

What version Speccy?
Updated from HERE?
Ver. 1.05.183 working OK here, WXP up to date, athlon x2 processor
sorry I was a bit piss about that but that`s not fair for the developers. Maybe I am an insolated case.
I am very knowledegable with computers and my machines are always maintained in top shape and rock solid. That`s why I haven`t seen a BS like that in a long time.
I suspect may be the program is accessing a sensor which cause the blue screen. In any case, I don`t feel borking my XP at repetition just to test that program. I was using the latest version available by the way.
I can only give you my specs to help.
Asus A8N-E
AMD Opteron 180

Nvidia 8800GT

Personnally I prefer to use Hwinfo32 which works fine all the time everywhere.
Good luck !
Have you checked your RAM and hard drive for bad sectors yet??

I guess not since your system is in perfect working order

so after many years and countless programs running, hard gaming, multi boot OS (linux,XP,W7-32-64 bits), your little program found a flaw in my system ! yeah right ...
P.S NO there is no hd or memory errors
v-1.06.191 (newer) working OK here.
From my laptop: Just loaded and ran Speccy on my main computer. Computer locked up. After a reset, internet connectivity is gone. Recommending to all my friends.
Can you do what Hazelnut suggested above, post #2?
These (volunteer) moderators are pretty sharp about Piriform software, and you might help the developers resolve an issue.
I also got some scary blue screens.... which I hadn't seen in ages. Uninstalled Speccy and they were gone as quickly as they came.
I have some in common with armagedon51, we share the same generation of motherboard. I'm running an Asus A8R4T.
Perhaps a motherboard issue?
Good luck, love your work otherwise
