Sophos is not allowing me to DL Ccleaner because of malware?

When I try to download Ccleaner, I get the following message from Sophos Endpoint Security:

  • Location: download.piriform.com/ccsetup417.exe
  • Access has been blocked as the threat Mal/HTMLGen-A has been found on this website.
  • Return to the page you were previously viewing.

Sophos then gives the following explanation of HTMLGen-A:

Mal/HTMLGen-A is the threat name associated with web content blocked by Sophos products using the reputation filtering functionality.

Note: Mal/HTMLGen-A is not detection of a malware payload on an infected machine. Instead it indicates a Sophos product blocking access to a remote website we believe to be either malicious (a site whose sole purpose is to infect users with malware) or compromised (a legitimate site, but one that has been hacked in order to infect or redirect users).

Is this something to be concerned about?

My AntiVirus (G Data) doesn't complain about anything, when I open the download. Is Sophos very often detecting "infected" sites?

Steve it is a false positive if you are downloading CCleaner directly from the CCleaner site

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

Sophos is probably flagging the presence of the bundled offer.

Please report it to them please either through your program directly or from here.
