I have just gone through rridgely'sMalware Prevention Guide (wonderful guide, thank you!), and have now found myself confronted with a dilemma. I had been running Zone Alarm on my old computer and it had been serving me very well, but with the new computer (I acquired it some 10 days ago and have been totally absorbed in it ever since ), a dear colleague of mine, who helped me with the hard- and software, installed Sophos Antivirus on my new machine. After reading rridgey's Guide, I feel strongly inclined to go back to my dear, old Zone Alarm and to uninstall Sophos. What do you think? What are your experiences with these two protections? Is Zone Alarm really that much better, or am I just being guided by some odd sentimental feelings? Please, help me, any concrete advice will be most appreciated - and I really need it !
If you like Zone Alarm firewall then you should deffinitely use ZA antivirus as well. Zone Alarm antivirus is really just Kaspersky with a different skin which means its using the best AV engine available in my opinion. If you however do not want to use ZA firewall anymore then I would just save your money from buying sophos and use one of the freebies listed in my guide(avg free, antivir personal edition, avast home edition).
