SonicWALL blocks CCleaner download

I just ran into this in the last couple of days at different clients who all have a SonicWALL router and run SonicWALL's Gateway Antivirus on the router. Whenever I tried to download the free CCleaner, I got a message in the browser that the download from Piriform was blocked because the download contained xpack.gen(trojan). I realize this is a false positive, but what a pain! Came to this forum because I was curious to see if anyone else was experiencing this same problem.

Thanks

Mark

as you are aware, it's the bundled offer of Google Chrome embedded in the normal build download that is triggering your AV software.

you can either add it to SonicWall as an exception or use the Slim or Portable builds that don't have the bundled offer.

Didn't know about the Slim version. Just tried it, and it downloaded just fine.

Thank you, mta!

the only thing you may like to know about the Slim build is they don't come out the same time as the normal build.

they get delayed about a week.

the Portable build (from memory) IS released the same time as the normal build.
