is there something like this for vista? i find it pretty cool that it would replace any accidentally deleted registry's etc if you accidentally deleted them

It's interestingly called Windows 2000 System File Checker even in XP. If it's available in Vista it could possibly be here: Windows Folder\System 32\SFC.exe
