Software updater is offering a previous version for the Opera browser 131.0.5877.24. The current installed correct version is 131.0.5877.5. So, I don’t know why CCleaner a previous version of this software. Thanks

Please send me a screenshot showing the update offered by CCleaner also follow these steps to help us investigate the issue:

  1. Download and install the CCleaner Support Tool using the link below: https://download.ccleaner.com/CCleanerSupportTool.exe
  2. Replicate the issue on your end.
  3. Run the tool to generate the logs.
  4. At the end of the process, you’ll receive a 5-digit File ID.

Please share that File ID with me so I can review the logs and investigate further.

Investigating this I can see the latest version of Opera Browser is 131.0.5877.24 which was released on 6 May 2026.
While 131.0.5877.5 was released on 29 April 2026. Please let me know why you think 131.0.5877.5 is the newer version?

I did some searching on the internet and according to one site the .24 version is the latest. It just seems odd that the numbering seems backwards. No matter, sorry for mistake on my part, and have a nice day.

@arejfour no need to apologise — the version numbering can definitely look confusing at first glance!

The key thing to keep in mind is that the numbers after the last dot aren’t decimals in the traditional sense. Instead, each segment is its own independent counter. So 131.0.5877.24 means this is the 24th build of version 131.0.5877, making it newer than 131.0.5877.5 (the 5th build). Unlike a decimal where .24 would be less than .5, here each part is compared as a whole number.
