There should be different skins to choose from if you don't like the default colour. I personally preferred the silver colour with the grey bar as opposed to the current colour.
There are only the 2 choices, the old CCleaner one, and the piriform one.
You can choose at the very bottom of the page, left hand side, "CCleaner style"

I wouldn't want skins either. I'm with you in disliking the colour of CCleaner 2, however something to change the program colour that's build in and not using a skin would be nice. Or at the least the ability to match the colour of the Windows theme currently in use.
