First, I had to reregister on CCleaner even though my details were obviously already there.
What is that all about.
Main point - since cleaning up my computer my favourite sites do not remember my Login details.
Someone on MSE suggested I untick "cookies" in the CCleaner programme Internet Explorer box. I did this and it made no difference. I cannot get back to where I was before Cleaner so would it be better to delete the programme?.

Hello floraldi,
It may be that those sites are using "flash cookies".
These are used by many "popular" sites like Yahoo and others.
Try turning off the option at Cleaner > Applications tab > Multimedia list > Adobe Flash Player(or Macromedia Flash Player).
Also untick Cleaner > Windows tab > Internet Explorer > Autocomplete Form History for sites where Internet Explorer asks if you want to store your password.
