I am trying to restore files (pictures) using your software, but already 12hours program scans the hard disk for deleted files.
stage 1 of 3. Scan stands at 34% over 12 hours. Do I have to wait until the scan is over, and for how long? or press the cancel?

All I can say is it'll take as long as it takes.
No real way to cut that any other way.
Perhaps you have a large capacity drive, or lots of files to wade through, or maybe even a failing drive and sectors have to be re-read multiple times.
In case it may help others chime in;
what OS are you running?
how was the drive formatted: FAT or NTFS?
why are you using Recuva: accidental deletion of files, corrupted drive, accidental formatting?
drive capacity?
internal or external? if external, how connected: USB, NAS etc?

My OS windows 7, NTFS, internal drive 500gb.
The operating system will not load, attempts to restore or have failed. During reinstall windows, it was found that the disk has become empty without a single file. For whatever reason this happened is not clear.
