I’m just about to do a Windows 11 24H2 clean install and would like to know how to save my current settings?
The CCleaner settings can be saved as an ‘ini’ file.
Options>Advanced>Save all settings to INI.
Tick that box and close CCleaner to save the file.
As long as it is kept ticked it should save your settings everytime, in case you changed any settings.
The ini is saved in C:/program files/ccleaner/
Copy it to an external drive/USB stick, copy it back after the new install and CCleaner will pick the settings up when you open it.
If you have Pro then remember to take a note of your key before the Win11 upgrade as you will need to re-register any new CCleaner install.
You can get a CCleaner installer from here:
Download an installer, run it to install CCleaner Free, open CCleaner and enter your licence key to upgrade it to Pro.
Thank you you for a very comprehensive response!!
I’m running v 6.30.11415 x64, and the cookies are held in the .ini file
So they are now, I don’t save any cookies myself and hadn’t noticed that change.
I’ll edit my post above for anyone else reading it in future.
They didn’t used to be saved in there, I’m guessing that was changed when they added the cookie management to Health Check.
You can also still save the list from Options>Cookies by right-clicking in the ‘Cookies to keep’ panel
Nope allowed cookies were/are always in ini file
i like nergal’s post.
cookies aren’t saved within ccleaner’s INI file. it is just a list of cookies-to-save.
Thank you for putting it elegantly as i did not. Correct names of cookies in keep are listed.
