Ridiculous cancelling process or am I doing something wrong

I am currently on the trail for CCleaner 7. My trial expires soon, so I’d like to cancel before it renews. After heading to manage my account to cancel the subscription, it’s asking for me reference # to login. Not the license key # which is conveniently placed in the software or you can request on their website – the reference number, the one they put into your ORIGINAL purchase email (I deleted mine months ago). I go to request this reference number from their support, but what do you know – there’s NO email or chat to use to get the number. How is this not illegal? How can you slip in a reference number one time on an original email, require they have it to cancel, and then not have a way for the customer to get the number if they lost it?

So here I am, talking to a forum about getting my reference number lol. Am I missing something?

Support at https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general

Fill out the form and press submit. This should open a second page with the option for an AI chat, yell at the bot if it doesn’t help and it should get you a human.

Thanks.

The fix was to go to Cleverbridge directly, a different company, and request your order history. That contains the reference #.

That’s crazy how difficult they make it.

Cleverbridge are a “Merchant of Record” (payment/subscription processing, tax, and complience, company) that is used by many leading softwares.

Companies that they handle the payments for include: Malwarebytes, Avira, Sophos, CCleaner, Tenable, Acronis, QuickBooks, and many others.

For reference when wanting to lookup you CCleaner datails and.or manage your subscription:

If you want to manage and/or cancel your subscription then there is a webpage for that here: Subscription Management
If you need to look up your Cleverbridge reference then: Customer Support Contact Page
If you need to look up your CCleaner licence key then use this tool: CCleaner.com - License Lookup
