Rescan applications

A button for rescanning the entries/applications in CCleaner (like "rescan" or "scan" or "recheck" or "check").

Wouldn't have to close and reopen CCleaner to rescan the entries found/applications installed; would be easier/faster to use & test entries.

Would be an interesting addition, albiet it is sort of a developer-mode type of thing. Maybe could be made accessible through a launcher option (ccleaner.exe -dev or something)

If this is related to installed apps under Tools, hitting F5 should be able to refresh them ;)

Not in the Tools, but under the "Cleaner". Though I just tried F5/refresh that also and it look liked refreshing it, have to make some entry and test it more later.

Thanks. :D

It actually does work in the list of cleaning entries if you hit F5. I just tried it. Neat! :) I didn't know that previously.

Good! So this/my thread is pointless. ;D Although nice info.

No more will I have to constantly close and open ccleaner !

Haha same! :D

:)

I'm not sure I understand the "problem"

Why don't you just hit "Analyze" button again once cleaning/analysis is done?

Same for "Scan for issues" under Registry tab.

Though, it would be nice to have some kind of Refresh button under Tools as F5 is not obvious.

"Analyze" doesn't "scan" the entries/programs installed. CCleaner scans them when you launch CCleaner or when you hit F5.

True, F5 wasn't obvious for me. :D It usually doesn't work in softwares like it does in Explorer/Windows or browsers.

The idea is a refresh (f5) to force CCleaner to repopulate its list of cleaning entries, to reflect changes either to your installed software or to winapp2.ini without having to close and reopen ccleaner :)

Great for us Winapp2.ini entry testers. . . for everyone else you might as well ignore this thread as f5 will do nothing unless you are activly editing Win*2.ini files

Pretty much, yep.

Wow, I've been using CCleaner and a regular here right from the very early days and never knew this

Not so pointless thread after all. :D

definitely not :)

I have oft wished for CCleaner to auto-update the uninstall section to reflect the fact that you just uninstalled an app myself...

Very good idea... Would love if Ccleaner rescanned the installed application list.

+1

No, wait, + 10! LOL!

not what this discussion is about superfast but I do support what you are sayin

Yeah, but a good idea anyways. :D

i agree :)
