Reported version error?

I have Vista Enterprise running on a Fujitsu laptop (2gb RAM, 7700 CPU).

I have tried to upgrade my CCleaner version to the latest available. I've tried uninstalling, cleaning the registry manually, and reinstalling from scratch. No matter what I try when installing version .660 of CCleaner, I'll open the application and it reports version .636 is installed.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried installing the slim build perhaps from here?

Where did you download it from CCleaner.com or FileHippo.com? I wouldn't trust any other site. ;)
