Use a disk editor tool.
No, don't. It is foolhardy to advise someone whose abilities you don't know to manipulate Windows metafiles manually. In any event, under Windows NTFS will revert any changes you make to the MFT with a hex editor.
Depending how far down the Recuva deleted file list the file is, just keep using your pc without any browser or other cleanup until the offending file(s) has been overwritten (new files are allocated in sequence). Then cleanup.
Alternatively run CCleaner's Wipe Free Space, and check Wipe MFT if you're running it from Options/Settings. Some users let the Wipe MFT part run (it runs first) and then cancel the Wipe Free Space, but you do this at your own risk. Well, it's all at your own risk actually, but this is possibly more risky.
Many thanks. Cleaning the free space did the job. Thanks again.
