Rename file found BEFORE it is recovered?

1st time using Recuva. I found 2 files I think I want to recover but am unclear where they will be recovered to and if the will overwrite my most current copy of the file?

I think they are not the ones I want but until I open them I wont be able to tell.

I thought if i renamed them BEFORE i recovered them it would clear up any potential confusion

Files can't be renamed before recovery. Just reciover them to a new separate folder on a different device, and all will be safe. You can then rename them to your heart's content.
