has anyone tried removing norton from a new computer with win7 O/S installed, i was told its easier to format the drive than trying to get all the unwanted junk out of off shelf models
CCleaner is not a power uninstaller - it will however remove unwanted registry entries once it's uninstalled. However, Symantec has a Norton specific uninstaller - ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_...emoval_Tool.exe - That is a direct link however. Also, Revo Uninstaller is a very good uninstaller program. Either one should do the trick. However, Norton 2009 and 2010 are much better than the older version, so I would leave it till the trial ran out, and then i would uninstall it and install something like AVG or Avast!

I notice at the bottom of the page that windows 7 is not mentioned, just the other operating systems. Confusing as some links mention win7 and some don't
