I would like to know if CCleaner can remove file information from the FAT after it overwrites the files.
After running CCleaner with file overwrite on, I ran Recuva and noticed that the overwritten file's names, sizes, dates, etc. are listed from the disk partition's FAT. Is it possible to add to CCleaner the capability of removing the FAT entries of the files that it overwrites? These files are unrecoverable anyway, and I do not want their FAT info to be displayable by file recovery programs.
If this is not possible, can you recommend a program that will "clean" the FAT of all files that do not exist on a disk partiton? I would assume that disk defraggers would perform this operation, but I guess not. I also realize that doing so would prevent recovery of files by programs like Recuva.
Thanks much.
