(although some friend of mine had troubles finding the Start button as well :lol: )

I had a friend who could not believe that you had to go to Start to stop the computer :lol:

When I was teaching at a local Senior's center one of the lessons was Turning off the computer safely and we stressed that going to Start then Turn Off Computer then selecting Turn Off was important.

- "Did you rebooted?"

- "Yes"

- "Ok, now click Start, Run.. "

- "Wait, i can't find it!"

- "Look at the bottom, on the left side..."

- "I have a bunch of icons there!"

- "I said at the left, not right!"

- "I don't have that!"

- "Ok, can you see a button having a four coloured flag..."

- "Ah yes, i see, but mine has write "Start", not "Start Run!"

Thanks for the welcome Dennis........I ran the dial a fix and whereas it cleaned up the applications options of CCleaner the registry "missing shared dlls" fragments are still showing up. As it appears I have a tons of them (missing shared dlls) and way too many to delete them individually.

Hi Rageq3a, back to your tons of missing shared dlls which CCleaner won't delete.

The only reason I can come up with, even after checking with another member, is my original thought that this is probably a permissions issue.

First of all, do you have full administrator privileges on your PC?

Secondly, has this problem just arisen with the latest version of CCleaner. (Assuming you've used previous versions).

Maybe you can check the permissions for one of the entries by navigating to it with regedit. Go to Start/Run enter "regedit" (without the quotes) hit OK. Find a relevant entry, and right click the folder in the left pane, and select "permissions".

You should now be able to see if the entry is "read only" or "full control". Just have a look for now, and post back what you find.

Apart from this, my only other suggestion is to go back to a previous version of CCleaner that worked OK, assuming this is not your first version.
