Hi, I accidently mucked up a registry cleaning and now i can't connect to the internet (network protocol not found) any way to resolve this ?
If you have a recent System Restore point see if that will undo the damage.
Or if you made a backup of the registry items cleaned when offered the chance to do so, just double click on the backup to restore them
By default they are in Documemnts.
I don't have a backup :/ and system restore didn't work.. Any other methods :s?
does the error indicate which network protocol is missing?
have you tried reinstalling the network adapter?
what is your OS?
desktop or laptop?
LAN or wifi?
"Windows Sockets registry entries required for network connectivity are missing."
i've also tried all the netsh commands and other IP/networking resets and a system restore.
and i've tried reinstalling the network adapter and network drivers.
OS: Win10
Desktop
LAN.
You aren't the only one. I guess you have been through the fixes on this 24 page thread for Windows 10 users with that socket error.
Yeah i have
