Regarding CCleaner

Hello, I hope someone doesn't mind helping/advising me on the following situation.. I went ahead and use CCleaner on my labby and restarted, after which I was unable to load/startup some of my vital programs such as WLM, DivX, Visual Studio and my Photoshop CS3 series.. I didn't do a backup for the registry fixes beforehand and that's mainly bcuz I did the exact same thing on my desktop and there's no such problem.. I tend to prefer to use my labby and it's rather frustrating in this case for me :(

I tried unistalling and reinstall but that doesn't work.. (WLM won't even let me install back) I wasn't either able to do a system restore nor reformat my labby as firstly there's no restore point that happen to be before the incident and secondly my DVD-rom drive was spoilt a while back ago, thus unable to format.. I also did a complete defragmentation of all my hard drives but that doesn't improve on the situation..

Is my labby screwed? Does anyone have any slightest clue on the solution? I tried posting/asking around on some of the forum I was active on but to no avail.. Any help(s) are greatly appreciated.. Thanks :)

Seems like you had a lot of software in Temp files.Never a good idea to do a Defrag after you think you have lost some data. This makes it harder or impossible to recover.I hope some of the Experts can help you out. There are some very knowledgeable people on this forum. Good Luck!!!

I didn't knew that defrag would do more harm since I'm not really too such about the lost of data part.. I really hope I can get to fix this soon enough so I'll be able to start using back regularly to do my works..

Do you have copies of this software on your desktop PC? Maybe you can transfer them. :o

I recommend waiting for help first. These helpers can save you hours of time and less troubles.

After a little more thought, you may still not be out of luck.I hope you are using your desktop and not using your laptop to discuss this problem. You may still have a restore point prior to uninstalling. This may help.

In the meantime Post back some more info regarding your system and what you mean about not being able start the programs. For example "all my shortcut icons are gone" "my start menu is empty" ETC.

Don't use your laptop if possible!!!
