Recuva stuck at 6%

Hi there,

i started a deep scan on a 600gb usb 2.0 HDD more 8 days ago and it stuck at 6% since 7 days or something like that. The only thing which is changing is the displayed remaining time, so the process is still running. The time fluctates between 1 and 47days. I know that a deep scan tooks a long time, but i can't believe, that this is normal. The progress should raised to at least 7%...

Do you think a restart, maybe not in the deep scan mode, could be more successful? The problem is, that i'm not realy sure that this hdd is working totaly fine, but in this case i would expect an error warning? The hdd is from a laptop with a broken motherboard and it wasn't mountable without rewriting the first 1M with linux and quick formating it afterwards with EASEUS

.

Do you think there could be a better change after using the defrager tool on this hdd?

Thanks and greetings Hans

this is inadvisable because it involves a great deal of writing to the drive which will make you data (much) less likely to be recoverable.

Deep scan takes a looooooooooong (too long for me to ever try it on a 600gb usb drive) time
