Recuva Pro doesn't update

I'm using Recuva Pro v1.53.1087 on Windows 10. I can't get Recuva Pro to update despite following the update directions. The programs always says that an update is available, it downloads and presumably installs, but the version number of the installed program never changes. Where does the new update file download to? Where can I download a current Recuva Pro program file?

This is being looked into; in the mean time, please download the latest version from: https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva/download and install it manually to update to the latest version.

Just to clarify: you have to download and install the free version in order to update the pro version.
