When deleting a file in my Downloads folder, I thought I selected it and pressed Shift+Delete. Since the entire Downloads folder vanished, I suspect that I didn't select the file. I still have no idea how I could have deleted the folder that I was currently in.
Anyway within minutes I had downloaded Recuva to an external drive and deactivated the defragmenter service. But Recuva doesn't find a single trace of the files. At all. Nothing. It does find a bunch of files deleted almost a year ago, but not these 8-10 files.
Is it because the Downloads folder seems to have been recreated, probably by internet explorer, that Recuva get's confused? Is there any way to find my files?
