I have deleted photos on my smartphone by mistake.
When I connect my S6 via USB, I can always see it as a drive in my Windows (Windows 10) explorer.
However, recuva does not scan this drive, this I cannot restore my photos.

No, recuva can only detect drives mounted as drives, android phones attach as "media (or photo) transfer" devices
