Recuva as a standalone application

I am not sure whether this is relevant or not, but most commercial recovery software recommend not to install/run the soft on the drive from which data will be recovered.

So, looking for lost data on my C (active) drive, it choose to also install Recuva 1.01.069 on my USB stick and ran it from there.

It took not more than 3 minutes and 44 seconds for the soft to scan the 80MB partition, analyse it and present me with the files i accidentally deleted. Recovery of the selected files was achieved in seconds. Wonderful !

Questions:

- Apart from rubbish data related to the download and installation folders, does Recuva write any entries into the registry ?

- Can it be considered as a fully standalone application ?

By the way, it feel that the installer should show a warning stating that the option "Empty recycle bin" should be disabled in CCleaner in order for Recuva to be fully effective.

Great job from Pririform's people !

Yes, Recuva is truly standalone and currently doesn't write anything to the registry. But, we may shortly include some registry entries to allow storing of user settings.
