Recovering the files lost during cut paste

Hi All,

Few of my files were lost during cut and paste operation. Let me explain on what i did.

I connected an external hard drive to my laptop (Windows XP 32 bit) I cut a folder from my laptop and pasted it to the external hard drive. This operation was successful. Then i cut few text files and pasted it to the external hard drive. The files was pasted fine. I removed the external hard drive and when i connect the external hard drive later to my laptop, i can see the cut and pasted folder. But i can't see the cut and pasted text files. Is there a way to recover the text files. Need your inputs and help urgently on this issue.

Maybe you removed the external drive without using the safe removal procedure. You can run Recuva against your laptop drive and, if you find anything, recover the folder contents to the external drive.
