Recovering Folders & Files

Can the free version or the other versions recover the tree structure? I'm running Windows Server 2008R2. I just searched for pictures only. It found the pictures, but does NOT know what folder they belong to. It has them in the root of the E:\ drive. I did have 'restore folder structure' checked.

Thanks...

Right click on the results pane, and select View Mode/Tree View.

Thanks for tye quick reply, but it still comes up with the E:\ only. This is a file server and has many folders...

I assume you've pressed the plus sign next to the e:\ to expand the folders?

Yeah. Even in preview mode, it only has the E:\

If that's all I'll get, at least I can save them all in one location...

As Augeas says, you should a "+" sign beside the "E". If you haven't there may be something wrong with your version of Recuva.

As shown with my C: drive here ...

Open up all branches of the tree view by clicking the plus signs, and if they're missing, can you show us a screen shot?

I'm running v. 1.47.948 (free)

I know windows very well...it just has the root of E:\

For my info...if I re-run the scan or load other software on the C:\ drive (the E:\ has NOT been touch since the deletion) will the integrity of the E:\ be effected at all???

As long as your E: drive is simply a data drive, and doesn't contain any kind of operating system, program installs, or system folders moved from but still attached to it, then doing stuff on your C: drive shouldn't compromise it's integrity. I have an E: data drive, and the only stuff that goes on it is the stuff I physically copy or download to it.

But you haven't cleared up the "+" sign issue with your last post, and I'm intrigued to find out if and why it's missing.
