Recovering Files on formatted RAID 5/6 using Recuva 1.43.623 (Settings Recommendation)

Hi,

I am using Version 1.43.623 of Recuva and am looking at the best settings to recover files from 2TB HDD's that have been formatted a couple of times with different RAID configs such as RAID 5/6...

I scanned one of my HDD's but came up with little results...

I will add that the files I'm trying to recover are 4GB+ in size...

Is there a limitation with this software as far as different RAID configs go on HDD's that have been formatted a couple of times?

Many thanks

Dion

I have no ideal of limitations of using it on a RAID and won't go there. However you may need to enable the Deep Scan to find more things to recover, be prepared for a Deep Scan to take a significant amount of time to complete.

Ok, thanks...see how it goes

Quick format or something else ?

I suggest that any writing of files would have a greater impact upon your chance of success than a simple quick format

Bearing in mind I know next to nothing about RAID...

Raid 5 requires a minimum of 3 disks and Raid 6 requires 4. How did you format with two disks?

What was the format of the disks holding the files you're trying to recover, i.e. before you formatted with Raid? Was it Raid or single disk?

Were the old files deleted or left as they were and the disks formatted on top of them?

i feel in my bones that the chances of recovery are low.
