Ready boost for XP(usb drive as more memory)

I saw this and thought it was kind of cool. http://cnettv.cnet.com/2001-1_53-50004761.html

Its basically letting you use a usb drive as more memory in xp(like ready boost in vista). This might help you if your on an old computer with little ram. I would think that its going to be slower than actually upgrading your ram internally so that would still be the way to go if you've got the know how(and its pretty dang easy to do).

Very cool idea, thanks for sharing that! I can confirm that this works in Windows 2000 as well.

I had that idea for a few months now, but I'm skeptical about it since I don't see much benefit from it (referring to my computer). I can hardly fill up my second DDR 400 512mb memory module.

I guess it is good for those folks with the Etch-A-Sketch era 'puters

Yeah if you have a gig of ram or more then this is probably not going to offer any benefit. However if you only have 256mb (like many early xp computers did) then you should give this a shot.

... provided that the flash drive is connected to a USB 2.0 port, perhaps they'll see some benefits.
