RE: CC CLEANER ... HELP !

HELP !!!

I AM PRESENTLY DOING A FULL CLEANING WITH CC CLEANER & I WENT DOWN 2 THE "DRIVER WIPER " AREA 2 START A CLEAN OUT ...

IF I UNDERSTOOD CORRECTLY , THIS IS NOT GOING 2 REMOVE MY "FREE SPACE" IS IT ???

IM FREAKING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I understand you correctly, you are running Drive Wiper? If so, and if you have run it against your system drive, then it will wipe the free space. To do this it will fill the drive with dummy files and then delete them, so for a short period of time your disk will be full, but at completion you will not have lost any free space.

HELP !!!

IM COPMFUSED ...

SHOULD I STOP IT NOW , OR LET IT FINISH ???

IM SOOO WORRIED THAT I DELETED MY "FREE SPACE" !!!

THANK U

OOPS ... " CONFUSED " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please stop posting in oversized fonts, I have edited your posts.

Also please stop posting all in capital letters...it is considered to be the equivilent of shouting when on a forum.

Read what Augeas posted

but at completion you will not have lost any free space.

If Drive Wiper is freaking you out, you can use this instead:

1. Options -> Settings -> Wipe Free Space Drives:

Then tick the drives you wish to run it on.

2. Click the large Cleaner button, and look all the way at the bottom under Advanced and tick:

Wipe Free Space

Note:

When you don't wish to run Wipe Free Space you must remember to untick it - a reversal of what's instructed in #2 above.

With all due respect Soulmte, you shouldn't ever be running something of which you have no understanding.

There's nothing wrong at all with being unaware of what something is or does on your computer, but to bash ahead and ask questions afterwards is a sure road to disaster.

I think I've said this before on here, but far better to ask "what does this do" rather than "how do I fix this"?

There are guides here for all Piriform software, but I've linked you to the one relevant to the "Wipe Free Space", which will give you a full understanding of what the feature is and does ...

http://www.piriform.com/docs/ccleaner/using-ccleaner/wiping-free-disk-space

Use this feature only occasionally, and unless you're selling your computer, you need never run it at all.

Hope that helps. :)
