I Purchased a copy of Raxco's PerfectUpdater. They provide a yearly subscription serial key that can be used 3 times withn in the year before it becomes invalid. The problem is when I ran a complete cleaning 3 times using CCleaner it deletes the activation file which causes PerfectUpdater to reactivae. Now my key is invalid and I had to call Raxo to get a new key after explaining what I did. btw, restoring the backup doesn't work. I do not know what cleaning feature to untcheck that will prevent this. I will not use CCleaner untill this is resolve and I will inform my clients to not use it untill I feel it is safe to use.
Where does the key live?
the only things cleaned by a default ccleaner that have to do with raxco are
[PerfectDisk 8] ID=2244 LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKCU\Software\Raxco\PerfectDisk\8.0 Default=True FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Raxco\PerfectDisk\8.0|PDBootLog [PerfectDisk 9] ID=2245 LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKCU\Software\Raxco\PerfectDisk\9.0 Default=True FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Raxco\PerfectDisk\9.0|PDBootLog [PerfectDisk 10] ID=2246 LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKCU\Software\Raxco\PerfectDisk\10.0 Default=True FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Raxco\PerfectDisk\10.0|PDBootLog [PerfectDisk 11] ID=2247 LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKCU\Software\Raxco\PerfectDisk\11.0 Default=True FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Raxco\PerfectDisk\11.0|PDBootLog [PerfectDisk 12] ID=2248 LangSecRef=3024 Detect=HKCU\Software\Raxco\PerfectDisk\12.0 Default=True FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Raxco\PerfectDisk\12.0|PDBootLog
and by the voluntary addon "winapp2.ini" I only found

Please tell us where you save this file/registry key. if it is a registry key (and not a file) you need to follow my registry cleaning advice (below in my signature). file or registry key, all you have to do (as a stop gap until we pinpoint why it's being removed) is run analyze and then in the results find the file/reg key, right click in and choose add to exclude list. No need to stop using ccleaner, and without your help in answering these question and following this thread ccleaner will not be able to be fixed.
