Protecting Chrome/Chromium Extension Settings
The only reason I made this post is because so many people claim many different adblocking addons/extensions have stopped working, and they blame the adblocking developers who may not be at fault in all cases - especially if a cleaning tool is causing the issue.
When using Chrome/Chromium web browsers (Comodo Dragon, Google Chrome, SRWare Iron, etc.,) you need to leave the contents of a particular folder located in your browser 'profile' folder alone, and perhaps make an exclude in the 3rd party cleaning software you use (CCleaner, etc).
The reason is so adblocking addons/extensions can properly save and keep settings such as filter subscriptions, and custom filters you've made regardless of using 3rd party cleaning software. This may also work for other addons/extensions to also protect their settings.
This is the folder to leave alone:
..\Profile\Default\Local Extension Settings
Example of a proper full path excluded in CCleaner (using my unzipped copy of SRWare Iron Portable as the example):
C:\PortableApps\IronPortable\Profile\Default\Local Extension Settings
