I have finished working on the computer with MBAM expert and everything is OK.

Now, I am ready to deal with the CCleaner issue and need some help.

Have you started again with a fresh download of ccleaner (slim version or portable)

and does the same thing happen?

If it does and you run into the same issue and have to restore to a point BEFORE you went to the MBAM forum it wouldn't really be a good thing.

It must be something particular to your machine if it keeps happening, as this is not a known event for ccleaner. Also you state in your MBAM thread

I reinstalled MBAM and updated without any problem. I have not enabled realtime protection.

Before I installed MBAM and earlier in the day, on one startup, I had the same problem of it booting, login, Window chimes, but no desktop. On restart, it corrected itself. This seems to be a reoccurring problem sometimes with no known trigger.

This leads me to think that it is not ccleaner that is causing this.
