Problem with all Piriform programs...

Right so, I have an issue with all the programs from here (recuver, Ccleaner etc).

When I go to install the program, the little advert for google chrome that usually pops up in the file window keeps opening up in my internet browser (firefox) instead, so I can't continue with my install as it won't let me progress after that (the install option is transulscent and won't let me tick it). It then promptly crashes.

Now, I know it's probably something to do with my fire wall (Bitdefender), but this issue only happens on my desktop computer and not my laptop, even though they're virtually identical with how they're run and what is on them. I've tried switching bitdefender off and it doesn't seem to work.

Any help/advise would be appreciated, Thanks!

Never mind I just extracted the file using 7-zip. I mean if anyone can answer this that's great, but that seems to be working for now.

In the future with CCleaner wait for the Slim build to be posted on this page (it doesn't include the Google stuff):

As far as I know only the portable version is zipped, and that doesn't have the friendly chrome includes. What version are you trying to install, and where did you get it from?

It wasn't zipped, I right clicked on it and extracted it with 7-zip. I did download it from the piriform website though. It was ccsetup502.

If it wasn't zipped how did you extract it with 7zip?

If it wasn't zipped how did you extract it with 7zip?

7zip does support extraction for NSIS installer

try it for yourself

7-Zip does allow viewing and unpacking the contents.

If it wasn't zipped how did you extract it with 7zip?

determines she has expressed only wrong B) as it say in english? s**t happens or so :D

Yeah what everyone else said, I didn't unzip it persay but I used 7zip to open the archive. Meh

Anyway thank you.

Sorry, it was not my intention to insult, nor derail I actually was curious/naive in that I did not realize she'd used the unpacker to explore and extract from the full installer
