I have the latest version of Pro and it keeps updating every time I turn on my computer even though it is set to manual updates. I changed it to manual in services to stop it, but neither Firefox or Brave will open if the service isn’t running. They have basically been hijacked by this service. If there isn’t a way to stop this I will be canceling my subscriptions.
There is a known issue with the update notification - it isn’t updating at all but the notice is being shown daily for some people. There have been several complaints about it already on this forum.
It shouldn’t be doing that and they are working on a fix.
I don’t see how stopping the CCleaner service would prevent browsers from opening (unless perhaps you had put them them to sleep in Performance Optimiser).
Could you give more detail of that?
It’s fairly straightforward. If I stop cccleaner service, and click on the tray icons for Firefox or brave, neither one will open. Chrome will however. As soon as I restart the service but will open up again.
Both* will open
And have you checked if Performance Optimiser is set to put them to sleep?
If you let CCleaner’s Performance Optimizer put something to sleep and then stop the CCleaner service then PO can’t wake it up again when needed.
