(Portable) apps & tools

Not sure if this belongs to The Lounge or Software section of the forums, but I'll post it here for now.

Which portable applications/tools/fixes do you use/prefer? Are they free or not?

Any suggestions/additions to my "USB toolbox"?

Currently:

post-57694-0-99862200-1321907756_thumb.jpg

and as bootable:

Hiren's BootCD

MemTest86+

UBCD

Puppy Linux

Edit. I should remove DriverSweeper_3.2.0, it's not the same as the old version (and it's not portable). Any suggestions to replace that?

Also tried to find some GPU test/stresstest, found only GPUTool (as portable), FurMark would've been nice, but it's not portable as far as I know.

This could go in the freeware topic!

What I use that's portable, all free stuff:

* Audacity Portable

* BleachBit Portable

* CCleaner Portable

* ClamWin Portable

* NirSoft - I use allot of his tools, and most are portable

* Recuva Portable

* VirtualDub Portable

* VLC Portable

Nice, thanks, I'll try & add BleachBit.

Also added TestDisk & PhotoRec.

My Portable contains Many many too many apps to list (roughly 130 without counting the "run as admin" doubles)

@Nergal, I feel to lazy to right click/run as admin.

On applications that require admin mode to properly function, I repack them into a RAR SFX container using the same icon as the program via Batch Icon Extractor (Great, free icon extractor) & set it to request admin permission on click/launch/run/load/whatever.

Makes it a lot less clicky!!!

naw I just duplicate the actual exe & change the compatibility to require admin in the file properties (his is a rarity, mostly just Nirsoft's regfromapp)

Added TreeSizeFree (already had it on PC, but not as portable on USB stick). Also added Secunia PSI and Sandboxie -setups (not portable :().

btw forums are lagging atm.

That works great. I just don't like having to do it every time I run something.

Nirsoft Startup Run is a program I like to use, because it can detect & disable or delete, BHO + startup (CCleaner only shows startup).

In XP, it works fine, but in Windows 7, it must be run under admin mode in order to actually delete anything.

Therefore, I prefer it to self elevate itself when I run it from the flash drive, because I use it on a lot of comps, & this makes it much easier.

I agree. For 1 PC, it's great. But for a lot, I use SFX to self-elevate it.
