What's going on with this forum's notifications system ? I signed up to get notifications when visitors have replied to forum threads I started or where I posted a reply. But up to now I never received any such notifications. And now I get a lot of notifications in one burst in the last two, three days. Even of older posts I replied to.
What's going on on the Piriform forum website ? Malware infection(s) ? Faulty forum software ?
The forums were recently compromised and data was lost.
That doesn't explain why it took the forum website so much time to send me the notifications. It was a year worth of notifications. BTW: creepy avatar.

Well, maybe they were compromised a lot longer than they realized, & the botnet just activated the other day.
Or perhaps notifications went awry & the server had to be rebooted because of the malware, & now it works?
Who knows... Weird...
No I think probably some modification broke the notifications and as PHPs are regenerated or copied from places the notifications came back. (Note the is a whole-cloth guess with no inside information)
Yep, I got some very old notifications via email although I've had that option disabled for a long time.

I had mine backed up otherwise I'd be seeking out Woody G again.

Just go into your profile settings by clicking on your name (top right of page) and add it back Willy where it says photo.

Yep. Got my avatar restored. "No user info compromised" ? Next problem is that all of my shortcuts to a number of threads on the Piriform forum don't work anymore.
