I downloaded the latest version and upon install it not only installed CClener but also google chrome. And it changed my default browser to google chrome. If I want that browser I will dload it on my own and I do NOT like having you sneak it in. I like and use CCleaner on a regular basis, and when I upgrade I want to dload ONLY the newest version of CCleaner notanother browser.
next time give the install some time and read everything that comes up, it is an opt-out part of the installer. Alternately you can use the slim installer (which comes out 1-2 weeks after the original) or the (released day-and-date of original) portable package and extract it on top of your old ccleaner (delete portable.dat after extraction)
the chrome installer is a revenue stream which keeps ccleaner available for free. If you opt-out of chrome install during the ccleaner install a registry entry will be added to your PC not to offer chrome temporarily (either 6 month or 1 year I can't recall)

It won't bother me for at least 500 years after I played in the registry.

mdeming, you can uninstall that unwanted software if it sneaked in, you know.
I know, I know, thats not the point at all, but still, you can uninstall it.
Some pretty good hardware you have there, Andavari.
I'm thinking of affixing a Toyota sticker over the Dell logo to gain renowned reliability.
