If you're looking for freeware you could try this.

Once it's a text document just press Ctrl+A to select the entire document, then copy/paste into word. If you want to pay some money just do a search on softpedia.com, and you'll get a lot of great options.

Yes Tom, I've used PDF to Word for a number of years. The newer version 3.0 is a bit slow compared with v1.4. Though v1.4 saved it as an RTF file and you just used Word to convert it to a doc file.

I've did the opposite and converted Word -> PDF on http://media-convert.com/ however I suppose it could probably also do what you want. It's just a website that you upload docs, media files, etc., to and it converts to the format of your choice all without installing anything.
