PC clock

hi, I have a question that I've been wondering for a long time now,

it's about the PC clock! my question is, how does it always know the correct time?

even when you turn your computer off for a long time, then turn it back on, it has the current time.. even when you unplug your PC. even when you DC your internet (so it can't update that way)

so.. does this clock run on battieries or something? is it always running, inside my PC somewhere? how does it always know the correct time? is there some secret power supply on my PC I don't know about?

this one has had me stumped for awhile now

how does this thing work?

Yes, there is a battery. It should last last 5 - 10 years depending on the type.

interesting! i never knew that

thanks Glenn
