password protection software

Anyone have a recommendation for a good password protection software? I'm currently using Identity Safe, which is part of NIS. I'm interested in software that is stand alone, rather than part of a interent security suite.

You might take a look at RoboForm.

Also perhaps look at KeePass

KeePass for essentials should the LastPass servers be down

I'm looking for software that doesn't require access to a server - something that resides entirely on my computer.

I keep my passwords on a Blowfish-encrypted text file. The Blowfish algorithm encrypter/decrypter is included with the free Glary Utilities Slim.

Edited: The majorgeek site DL'd a trial pro version, so I changed the link to softpedia for a totally free slim version -- no tool bar.

Keepass is the best way You can do.

Multi platform, opensource, free.

It stores Your data(!) not just passwords.. many other filed can be created.

The database is a file. A simple, and small file. You can store it on Your computer, and You can upload it to eg. Dropbox, to have it everywhere, and on every device You use.

Dropbox is free up to 2GB. ...and also multiplatform too...

You could access Your passwords and other sensitive data on Your phone, notebook, pc.

Recommended combo for everyone, who wants to store sensitive data in a really SECURE way.

Your database file will be encrypted VERY STRONG so don't care if Your database file got in others hand... never mind... So if Your are affraid of Dropbox's server.. don't be affraid :)

I too use keypass (1.x branch as 2.x requires .net and so far hasn't blown off m'socks)
