Hi,
ccleaner is great app but i'd like to install it on computers in school and I don't want anybody else to run especially students. It would be great if ccleaner had option to set password, so it could be run only if correct password is entered.

Sounds sensible. Actually. On the other hand CCleaner isn't likely to cause trouble no matter who runs it...
CCleaner can cause trouble if it deletes good Registry keys.
What's the point in installing CCleaner on school computers ?
But CCleaner wont delete the wrong keys. It never did. It's the safest regcleaner on the planet.

And today's award for bravery goes to ...
johhnyq there are various ways you coud hide it, or maybe change permissions on the exe ... depending on various factors like the OS and how clever the students are! Though if they are capable of doing damage with ccleaner I would have thought that would have be the least of your worries - what problems do you envisage by them having ccleaner access?

I guess you have a point here. A small point, that is. I have check marks in all options except Run, Hot fixes and Wipe Freespace. The rest of the crap goes every time.
There's also a portable version of CCleaner. I guess you could have it on an USB stick and plug it in when you need it...

A computer is a computer regardles. Does the school bus still need a mechanic to maintain it self?
I think it's a very sinsible idea.
Frankly, children generate more crap files that any other user category...
I think children are more interested in what they can break then what can they clean.
or was that just me at school
/shame
