Password clearing

Hello!
I’m having a problem with CCleaner for a while now. Every time I clean my computer, it also clears passwords for sites I frequently visit, like Facebook. My settings don’t allow password clearing, yet I still have to log in all over again after clearing them. I have different, complex passwords, so entering them every time isn’t very appealing  How can I prevent the program from deleting passwords? I have the latest version, 7.3.1120.0.

Hi @Edziorek,
Please let me know which browser you are using when you experience this issue.

I mainly use Chrome, but also Microsoft Edge from time to time.

Oh, and I forgot to add that after every cleanup, whenever I visit a saved website, I get an email saying “you’ve logged in from a new computer” and asking if it was really me. The date and time are listed, so I can quickly determine if it was me or someone else, but it still shouldn’t work like that.

Custom clean or healthcheck?
Have you configured cookies to keep?

that’s normal for sites to mail you when you sign in, it’s a form of two-factor-authentication, and is also a sign that it is cookies being deleted

Custom Cleanup:
CHKDSK File Fragments
Recycle Bin Cleanup
Memory Dumps
Temporary Files
Windows Cache
MS Search

Edge, Chromium:
Cookie
Download History
Internet Cache
Internet History
Last Download Location
Temporary Metrics Files

And cookies to keep? (Configure in righthand pane)

The thing about cookies is that I haven’t found a way to choose which ones to keep and which ones to throw away. They’re probably deleted by default.

Press configure in the custom clean right hand pain, type donain (e.g. cleaner.com)

@Edziorek, I am not able to replicate this issue using Chrome and EDGE and the settings you have indicated and both Health Check and Custom Clean.
If I remove Facebook from the Cookies configuration menu in the top right of the cleaning screen, then I am logged out, but my password details remain saved, and with Facebook added to the Cookies configuration menu, then I remain logged in.

Are you using any type of third-party password manager?

I’ve already found where to set these cookies, and now I need to work on entering my trusted sites. Thanks for your help!
