One could say that about most software not just Pale Moon, eventually they'll pull the plug.
JRE8 has also dropped support for XP.

well, I an the big fan of FF; meantime, the Pale installed an unwanted search engine provider DuckDuckGo without users' permission.

See Palemoon's dev comment about this here. It didn't download it, it is now the embedded default search which can be change to Google in a couple of ticks anyway.
