Outlook Email and Audio not working after using CCleaner Professional

I started a 60 day trial today to check out CCleaner professional.

After running the HealthCheck, Performance Optimizer and Driver Update I now can’t open my email on Outlook and my Audio sounds really scratchy and tinny, My laptop seems to running slow as well (sometimes).

I noticed when I updated drivers it indicated it couldn’t update the audio drivers so I thought those were left as is.

There’s no way to contact Support other than trawling through the Help centre and I can’t seem to find anything on these issues.

Running Windows 10.

Can someone please assist me to restore my Audio and get access to my email again. I’m in the middle of a research project and need to get up and running asap.

Thanks in advance.

First off check if you let Performance Optimizer put Office/Outlook to sleep, if it has done then wake it up again.
Sometimes if Office has been put to sleep it won’t wake up properly again when wanted.

I’m not sure about the audio, but i’d guess that a driver that you used to have has been disabled or removed.
Were you using an audio enhancer? (Many PC’s have them from the manufacturer such as the Asus AudioWizard, etc).
If so then check if it’s settings have been changed/reset - which could happen if it’s driver was removed then put back becase CCleaner couldn’t update it after all.

To contact support you use the the form at this link to raise a support ticket: CCleaner Support Community you will be given a ticket number - make a note of it.
You will then get an automated email reply with some general information (which will probably not interest you).
Your support ticket is now in the queue to get to a person.

You can also contact CCleaner support by emailing: support@ccleaner.com

You should be aware that support are taking a very long time to reply at the moment.

Thank you so much for your response and for the Support contact email.

I have since solved the issues myself:

No, I didn’t put Office to sleep in the Performance Optimizer. However, to solve the Outlook email issue I simply killed the process in Task Manager, as soon as I did that I could open it again.

The Audio issue – the Driver updater indicated it could not update the audio drivers so they remained as is. However, the audio definitely changed to a muffled, tinny sound. I ended up removing enhancements through the Audio Advanced settings and that fixed that issue.

The slowness – things were “sticky” after the Performance Optimizer for a while, but everything now is running noticeably faster.

So, for now, I’m okay.

That Support email should be more prominent. I searched for that and couldn’t find it but perhaps I was looking in the wrong place.

Many thanks again for you response.
