Hello, I am getting an out of memory error after I run recover in "Deep Scan" mode on a drive. I have 3 gigs usable on my computer (4 gigs on 32-bit Windows 7 (SP1). How could I run out of memory?
Thanks.

The only thing is, I haven't gotten that error in probably 20 years. Does it not use swap files?

If you mean does recuva not use swap files, i'd hazard a guess that it does not, as writing a swap file would cause writing to disc which could (and would likely) overwrite the very data you're trying to rescue.
Ntman, please continue your posts here, not in the 2.5 year old thread Hazel linked to.
Same problem... in deep scan it seems to progressing and finding lots of files..but then as it approaches the end of the scan, a long time later, it crashes and says it's out of memory ...not sure what that means ... lots of room on my HD and 4 g on board ram
