for your Office version, do you have that entry unticked in CC, Applications Tab, Applications section?
No, Office is ticked in the Applications seciton.
that is telling CC to clean up Office items, which could well explain your issue.
back when I was using Office 2003 or 2007, unticking that item still was causing CC to clean more Office items than I liked, so I also had to put %UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\Recent\ as an EXCLUDE and since then CC doesn't interfere with my 'Office experience'.
so, firstly, untick those CC items that mention Office, run CC and see if your Most Recent items still disappear.
if they do, add the EXCLUDE and see if that does it for you.
